Batteries for laser pens and Pro lasers
A laser pointer is only as useful as its battery. If you are on the roof-line patrol for pigeons at dusk or out with a telescope at midnight, a flat cell means going home. Here you will find spare batteries for laser pens in our Pro series and the PowerFox charger, which takes both battery sizes.
- PowerFox 18650 batteries (2-pack, 6800 mAh) – for the G1 Pro, G3 Pro, R1 Pro and V1 Pro.
- PowerFox 16340 batteries (2-pack, 1800 mAh) – for the compact G2 Pro, R2 Pro and V2 Pro.
- PowerFox charger – the same charger as supplied with every Pro laser; charges one 18650 or 16340 battery at a time.
Our pen lasers (X1, X2, M1, Z1) run on two powerful AAA batteries each (included); replacements are sold in any shop.
Every rechargeable laser already comes with 1 battery and a PowerFox charger, and you can add extra batteries when you order. These accessories are for people who use their laser often: one cell in the laser, one charged in the bag, and a second charger in the van, the boat or the caravan.
Which battery does my laser take?
| Battery | Lasers |
|---|---|
| 18650 Li-ion | G3 Pro, G1 Pro, R1 Pro, V1 Pro |
| 16340 Li-ion | G2 Pro, R2 Pro, V2 Pro |
| 2x AAA | X1, X2, M1, Z1 |
Safe charging and storage
Li-ion cells are safe when treated properly. Charge them on a hard, non-flammable surface and do not leave them charging unattended for long periods. Never use a cell with a damaged wrapper. Carry spares in a case rather than loose with keys or coins, and keep them out of hot cars and direct sun. Take worn-out cells to a battery recycling point.
Getting the most from a battery
Charge new cells fully before first use. Batteries deliver less in the cold, so on a winter evening keep the spare in an inside pocket rather than in the car. If the laser will not be used for a few months – for example between bird-scaring seasons – store the cell part-charged in a cool, dry place and top it up before you need it again. When the dot starts to look weaker than usual, swap to the charged spare rather than running the cell completely flat.
Wondering whether rechargeable or AAA suits you better? Rechargeable makes sense if you use your laser most evenings; AAA if you use it now and then or leave it in a drawer for weeks. Browse the lasers themselves under rechargeable laser pointers.
