R1 Pro Red Laser Pointer – Rechargeable

Rechargeable red laser pointer with key lock

The R1 Pro is the red member of our Pro series. It has everything the green Pro lasers have – an 18650 rechargeable battery with charger, two safety keys and an aluminium body – with a red dot instead of green. That makes it a good choice for people who mostly point indoors or over short distances and want a tough, rechargeable tool rather than a pen.

It is class 2, up to 1 mW, the class intended for sale to the public in the UK. Every unit is measured before shipping.

Practical uses

• Site and building work: point at a crack in a ceiling, a gutter joint or a cable run from the ground.
• Teaching and talks: red is easy on projected slides. See presentation lasers.
• Short outdoor distances: across a yard or garden in the evening.

Need range rather than calm? At dusk a green dot reaches roughly two to three times as far as red (indicative) – compare all three colours on our long-range laser pointer page.

Specifications

Battery and charging

Charge the 18650 battery fully before first use in the PowerFox charger in the box; the battery is charged outside the laser, and with normal use a charge lasts at least about a month. A spare battery from our batteries and charger range means you are never caught out on site.

Safe use

Use the safety keys: take the key out when you finish so nobody else can switch it on. Never aim at people, animals’ eyes, vehicles, aircraft or reflective surfaces. Keep it away from children – it is not a toy, and we sell to over-18s only. Read the safety guide.

Prefer something smaller? The R2 Pro is the compact version. All red models: red laser pointers.
