The X2 is our X1 green laser pen with a twist: a pattern cap that turns the dot into shapes and figures. With the cap on it is a bit of fun for the tent, the garden at night or a dark garage wall. With the cap off it is a straightforward green laser pen for pointing at things far away – the same 532 nm green, the same reach.

It is class 2, up to 1 mW, the class intended for sale to the public in the UK, and measured before shipping like every unit we send.

How people use the X2

• Camping and evenings outside: patterns on the canvas, then a clean dot to show the kids’ grandparents where Jupiter is. See laser pointers for astronomy.

Batteries

Two powerful AAA batteries come with the X2. With normal use a set lasts at least about a month. Replacements are available in any supermarket. Remove them when the laser is stored for a long period.

Safety

Patterns make the X2 look playful, but it is not a toy. Keep it away from children, never shine it into anyone’s eyes (people or animals) and never at vehicles, aircraft or reflective surfaces. There is no key lock, so store it switched off. Sold to adults (18+). Read our safety rules.
